Baden-Württemberg is the only region of Germany participating in this programme, and sends as well as receives EURODYSSEE-trainees.
Partner organisation for reception in Baden-Wuerttemberg
To implement the programme in Baden- Württemberg, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has commissioned the F+U – Rhein-Neckar gGmbH which, with its large language school and numerous professional training courses, is in the position to offer the right structure for the programme.
Programme structure
The total duration is 4 months. In the first month: Participation in an intensive German language course at F+U (6 hours of lessons per day) Followed by: 3 months practical traineeship placement in business, administration, etc. (8 hours’ work per day) Advice and assistance from F+U before and during the programme. During the 4-month period, participants are offered an extensive cultural and leisure programme (excursions, sport, theatre, company visits etc.). In addition, 14-day group meetings are held. Prior to departure a general evaluation is carried out and a written report prepared for each participant.
Participants receive a certificate of participation after completing the programme.
Organisation
Candidates from partner regions consult the F+U directly via their responsible organisations, or apply via Internet www.eurodyssee.net
From the list of practical traineeship placement companies offered via Internet by the F+U, the applicant chooses a position he / she finds of interest.
Based on the applicant profile and a telephone interview, F+U makes its selection and sends an invitation complete with journey directions.
The accommodation in halls of residence (1 –2 beds per room) is located in Heidelberg, a maximum of 15 minutes by train and bus from the F+U School in Heidelberg city.
Arrival and allocation of accommodation takes place on the Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning before commencement of the programme.
The first day of the programme begins with a welcome at 9 o’clock in the F+U Academy of Languages, followed by a language test, then lessons. The participants visit the place of their traineeship and clarify working responsibilities and times, etc.
Financing
The participants bear the cost of travel to and from the programme. Baden-Württemberg bears the cost of the 4-month programme (including accommodation). The participants receive in addition a monthly allowance of 300 €, from which they pay for food (e.g. in the refectory, self-catering in accommodation) and local transport costs (student ticket).
