On Tuesday, August 19th, 12 students from 6 different countries (Italy, Russia, Palestine, the Czech Republic, Spain, and Kurdistan) took a trip on a solar ship on the river Neckar.
Our day began at the boat terminal near the Old Bridge and, for a start, took us as far as the lock located further downstream near Neckargemünd. There, it turned around and continued in the opposite direction, passing under the bridges of Heidelberg and leading us almost up to the Wieblingen power plant. Finally, the last leg of the trip brought us back to the terminal at the Old Bridge.
While on our trip, the students were able to enjoy a beautiful view of the city, take pictures of the castle and Heidelberg's other numerous sights, and - some would say, most importantly - ate delicious cake and drank lots of coffee. Back on the shore, many students decided to round off the day by spending some more time in the atmospheric Old Town - and who can blame them!
