Prices and conditions 2012 - F+U accommodation in Heidelberg

• Administration fee: €50 per room (inc. all utilities, final cleaning; for group bookings of 10 or more people: € 25 per room).
• Deposit: a) Halls of residence and host families € 100; b) Apartments: € 200.
• Double room bookings are only possible with joint arrival. Group discounts: From 10 people = 5 % off the weekly rent.
• Long term booking discount is given only for full payment in advance.
• Meals: All halls of residence and apartments are equipped with a kitchen. Meals with host families are provided on the basis of the booking. Alternatively, you can book meals through F+U: Breakfast: € 50; half board € 125 (breakfast and lunch); full board €180 (meals in partner restaurants close to our school, usually in the same building; in summer (July and August): lunch in our school canteen: meals are delivered by a catering service). With the F+U student ID card you can also have reasonably priced meals (ca. € 4) in the university dining hall - Mensa - (voted "best Mensa in Germany" in 2009, 2010 and 2011) just a five-minute walk from the school.
• From July to the end of September we rent additional rooms in halls of residence and apartments. Their standard is comparable with that of accomodation we offer year rouind. Information about their facilities and furnishings, including WLAN, is available on request.

Apartments

F+U Hotel “Bayrischer Hof” and Youth Hostel

¹ The hotel “Bayrischer Hof”, a building with a long tradition, has belonged to the F+U group of companies since 2006. Other hotels on request.
² The youth hostel has a fantastic location on the Neckar, just a few metres from the zoological garden and the open-air swimming pool. The hostel is 3.5 km from the F+U Academy of Languages.

Location: Directly on Bismarckplatz, 200m from the school and the Old Town.
Description and facilities: The hotel, founded in 1856, was completely rebuilt and renovated in 2007/2008. Minibar, flatscreen TV as well as cable TV are available in the rooms. Anti-allergy bed linen on request. Room facilities include free WLAN Internet access and telephone and, in the bathroom, hand shower, designer toiletries and hairdryer. A laundry service is also offered.

Host families

Category A: journey time 2 - 30 minutes by public transport (some families live in the immediate vicinity of the school).
Category B: max. journey time 40 minutes.
Category C: max. journey time 50 minutes.

¹ Some host families offer full board for a supplement of € 50 per week.

Arrival and departure

Move in: Sundays (10:00-24:00), Move out: Saturdays (by 12:00).

• Please inform us no later than the last Friday (14:00) bevore moving in of your exact time of arrival. If you inform us any later, we cannot guarantee the key handover at the preferred time.
• If you would like to move in to your room on Saturday or leave on Sunday, you will be charged for an "extra day".
• Moving in before 10:00 or after 24:00 must be confirmed; we charge an additional € 10 for each commenced hour.
• In case of delay, please contact by telephone the named contact person for the key handover, or your host family.

Parking

• Free parking is available at F+U's "Concordia" hall of residence (distance to school ca 1.5 km).
• In the school building there is a public, paid parking. Parking spaces can be rented from F+U for € 60 per week, plus a deposit of €100. Tickets are limited; please enquire no later than one week pror to course commencement.
• Monthly tickets can be purchased direct from the Darmstädter-Hof-Centrum administration office

General information

Cancellation of the room or apartment is possible with two full weeks' notive. Notice must be given in writing.

Extend your rental agreement promptly: We cannot guarantee the extension of rental agreements. Please bear in mind that during the high season (June-September) especially, we have a high volume registrations.

Use of PCs, Internet, WLAN

• The halls of residence and apartments are equipped with WLAN; the only exception is the "SRH" hall of residence. In summer we rent additional rooms and apartments. Information about their facilities is available on request.
• Some families allow use of the computer for an additional charge. Details are available on request.
• In the school you can use our computers with free Internet access (50 PCs in three IT rooms); WLAN is also available: From 07:30 to 20:00 (Monday-Friday) and on Saturdays from 10:00-16:00.

Cleaning of rooms and communal areas: Please note that for the entire duration of your stay, you are responsible for the cleaning of your room. F+U or the host family undertake the cleaning of communal areas only (twice a week in the halls of residence) and the final cleaning of the room.

Laundry:

• Host family accommodation: free use of the washing machine once or twice a week.
• Halls of residence / apartments: A coin-operated washing machine is available (except “Rohrbach 16” - a laundrette is located in the immediate vicinity).

Bed linen and towels: Bed linen is provided when you arrive; please bring your own towels.

Child minding: € 12 per hour.

House rules (extract):

• Smoking is prohibited in the halls of residence or apartments.
• Kitchens must be kept clean; used crockery and utensils must be washed up.
• The night-time quiet period from 10pm to 6am is legally protected (state regulations). During this time, all residents must reduce any noise to room volume.
• Guests are permitted in halls of residence and in apartments only until 10 pm.
• If you would like to invite a friend to stay overnight, permission must be obtained in advance from the residence administration. Overnight stays cost € 10 per person. Guests who stay without prior permission will be findes the equivalent of at least one week's rent.
• Violation of house rules may incur a fine of €50; for repeated violations we reserve the right to terminate the rental agreement without notice.
• In host family accommodation, the host’s rules apply.
