Begin: 05.03.2012, 03.09.2012, 04.03.2013, 09.09.2013
Multi-lingual secretaries work in the same career fields as foreign language correspondence clerks. Due to the greater scope and duration of the training, it is possible to qualify for demanding positions in office and secretarial management as well as positions as assistants to directors in the areas of management, marketing and sales. This applies particularly if you choose to continue the training for a third year in order to gain a Bachelor of Business Studies.
Course duration and foreign languages The course lasts 4 semesters (2 years) and consists of basically 3 languages (English, French and Spanish).
Course content In each of the languages you will be intensively trained in international commercial correspondence, spoken communication as well as in translation into and from the foreign language. These classes are supplemented by lessons in regional and cultural studies – as it is only through exact knowledge of a country´s culture, politics and mentality that one can find exactly the right words in decisive situations. In order to be able to successfully carry out the various duties as a multi-lingual secretary, you must be confident in your business knowledge. The business aspect of the course includes the fundamental principles of economics, foreign trade and accounting. TThe training is rounded off with instruction in current computer applications, wordprocessing, audiotyping and office organisation. In the fourth semester, the focus is on international marketing and management, thus preparing you for an international career or a Bachelor top-up.
