Foreign language correspondent
Begin: Full-time: 06.09.2010; 07.03.2011; part-time: 04.10.2010
Foreign language correspondents work independently on national and international correspondence, carry out minor translation work, prepare all necessary documents for overseas business, act as representatives at international trade fairs and exhibitions and undertake contact with customers and suppliers at home and abroad.
The foreign languages The decision is yours whether to undertake the training in one or two languages. In the single language training, you concentrate wholly on English. If you choose the double language training, we offer Spanish, French or German as a Foreign Language (if German is not your native language) as a second language in Heidelberg.
Additional oppportunities In order to perfect your language ability, we offer low-price trips abroad to our subsidiary in Tenerife and our partner schools in ten different countries (in Europe and further afield).
Course content You will be schooled intensively in international commercial correspondence, in spoken communication as well as in translating both in and out of the foreign language. These classes are supplemented by lessons in regional and cultural studies – as it is often only through having exact knowledge about a country´s culture, politics and mentality that one can find exactly the right words in decisive situations.
In order to be able to successfully carry out the various duties as a foreign language correspondent, you require confident business knowledge. The business aspect of the course includes the basic principles of economics, foreign trade and accounting.
The training is rounded through schooling in current computer applications, wordprocessing, audiotyping and office organization.
